Big juicy chicken strips cooked to perfection. If you're taking the whole family out to eat, there is something here for everyone. They are usually pretty busy with barely an open seat in the restaurant, but the staff keeps up pretty well. And it's just a beautify of a bar, the woodwork is gorgeous and there is s a great variety of beer on tap(@ Least 30 handles!)
Walked through the front door and thought what a beautiful nostalgic looking bar. Took a short moment to be greeted by staff for seating. My son asked if we could eat at the bar. She checked for openings and replied yes. Sat down asked for some 1 glasses of PBR (WHAT???) ice cold. My son ordered a delicious chicken sandwich as he had been here beforehand a few times at business meetings. I ordered one of the most delicious burgers and seasoned fries I've ever eaten. They had a fried chicken special that evening and many people filled the booths enjoying their meal. The bartender (she) was top notch, friendly and had a delightful smile. This is one of those great bars with food in Illinois like no others. This should be on your must stop list!
We had a wonderful experience! Our waitress Ciara was very attentive, kind and helpful! The food was delicious! We traveled a little over an hour and a half to try this place out and we will be back!
This was a surprise restaurant, we randomly stopped here while passing through town and it was totally worth the stop. Great bar with a fun history that is explained on the menu. 30 different beers on tap and don't pass up on the 1 PBR. The menu is broad and has options for everyone. We had the PBR Burger and Asian Steak wrap, both were fantastic and the fries are perfectly seasoned. We can't wait to pass through again!
Went on a Sunday around one o'clock. We got seated quickly and the waitress took our drink and food orders. Drinks and food were brought to the table very quickly. Hot and fresh! I ordered a small supreme pizza that was absolutely delicious. My friend ordered a chicken sandwich and fried pickles and also said it was delicious. Our server was quick with refills and to go boxes. Highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area.
Great updated old time-y bar with lots of wood, great, loooong bar, stained glass, tin ceiling, subway tile floor, private booths... Just had it all and added lots of taps with rotating beer lists. I don't drink, so can't speak to the beer, but the fish and chips were on point! Great fries, real crispy, with just enough seasoning. The fish portions were great and they were HOT, so maybe enjoy some fries before you dig into the fish. Standard tartar sauce & slaw was attached, but the slaw was extremely good. I find it always hit or miss with slaw, and there's hit a home run.
Lucky people who live nearby & get to visit often. Heard many great things lately and finally had to give it a try. No wait on a Friday at 8. Large craft beer selection and large full bar. Huge menu and unique options. Burger was amazing. Also tried a smothered grilled tenderloin cheese curds and a side salad. Will be back!
